All but two pictures were taken Tuesday afternoon, June 9 at Timberline Gardens. A bittersweet photographic session, since these are not likely to be here next year.

  1. Very interesting blog. A lot of blogs I see these days don't really provide anything that attract others, but I'm most definitely interested in this one. Just thought that I would post and let you know.

  2. That Opuntia 'Chocolate Princess' is incredibly beautiful. Couldn't find it on the Cold Hardy Cactus.com site, though....Thanks for sharing these photos.

    1. Kelly has a dozen cacti that are undergoing evaluation for patenting and worldwide distribution: Chocolate Princess is one of the best of these--it is a heavy re-bloomer--blooming much of the summer. It will likely be released in a year or two around the world.

    2. A year or two, now that's a long time.... I have to agree though, it is incredibly beautiful.

  4. Now those are MOUTH WATERING … unlikely to survive for long here in Lancashire, England, but certainly worth every effort. Thanks Panayoti … you always come up with new ways to part me from my money!!!!

  5. I remember seeing many of these with you a couple years back. Such a spectacular achievement - so many new varieties and the rebloomers are something very special.

  6. We had a gardener in the Washington, DC area with the most incredible collection of hardy cacti that were absolutely spectacular when they bloomed in the spring. A shame they don't add to resale value! When his wife retired they decided to move and he has had to disassemble and give away his garden.
